In-store product sampling services for consumer brands

Trained ambassadors put your product in shoppers' hands at the shelf. Every shift ends with photos, consumers sampled and units sold.

What is in-store product sampling?

In-store product sampling puts a trained person at the shelf with your product and a clear goal: get a shopper to try it, understand it and buy it. It is the most direct way to turn awareness into trial, and trial into the first purchase at the retailer that matters to you.

Sampling is not handing out cups. A good demo has a setup the retailer approves, a short script that fits your product, a plan for questions and objections, and a record of what happened. That record is what makes sampling something you can manage instead of something you hope worked.

Greenline runs sampling with our own ambassadors, not subcontractors. Every shift is checked in by GPS and closes with a recap: six or more photos, consumers sampled and units sold.

Use cases

When brands use product sampling

  • New product or flavor launch

Get the first trial in the accounts that will decide whether the item stays on shelf.

  • New retailer or new market

Support a first set of stores with demos while the buyer watches velocity.

  • Defending shelf space

Run demos in accounts where sell-through is soft before a reset or a review.

  • Seasonal and promotional pushes

Pair demos with a price promotion or display so the offer is explained and the unit moves.

How it runs

Brief. Staff. Execute. Recap.

  1. 01

    Brief

You give us the product, the price points and the accounts. We confirm retailer rules before the shift.

  2. 02

    Staff

We pick and brief ambassadors who match the account and the product.

  3. 03

    Execute

The ambassador sets up, samples, answers questions and sells the next unit.

  4. 04

    Recap

You get the recap the same day: photos, check-in proof, consumers sampled, units sold.

How much does product sampling cost?

Our Sprint pricing is published. A single activation is a three-hour branded demo. Price per activation falls as you buy more: $240 for a test of one to six, $225 for seven to 29, $210 for 30 to 59 and $195 for 60 or more. You pick a quantity and check out online.

If sampling is ongoing across many accounts and markets, an Embedded sampling lane starts from $5k per month. See the cost guide for worked examples and the math to check any quote.

How we measure a sampling shift

Buyer guide

What to look for in a sampling provider

  • 01

    Their own trained people

Ask who shows up. Subcontracted staff are harder to brief and harder to hold to a standard.

  • 02

    Proof on every shift

Photos, check-ins and sales counts, delivered the same day. Anything less is a guess.

  • 03

    Retailer rules handled up front

Demo policies differ by chain and by store. A good provider confirms them before the shift.

  • 04

    A way to scale

One store is a test. Look for a provider that can run fifty with the same standard.
